Chinese Premier Li Qiang announced that China's economy is expected to surpass CNY 170 trillion (approximately USD 23.9 trillion) within the next five years. This growth cements China as an expanding market for global enterprises and indicates intentions to alleviate concerns about trade imbalances. Addressing the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, Premier Li referred to the forecasted GDP growth as a "new significant contribution to global growth." He committed to further opening China's consumer market to international companies, following a decisive trade agreement with the United States. Li reiterated Beijing’s dedication to globalization and strengthening economic relationships with trading partners, asserting, “In a period when the world is experiencing economic slowdown and escalating international disputes, it is crucial for us to maintain equal and beneficial cooperation, uphold free markets and trade, and address cross-border conflicts and issues through collaborative development.”
