In July 2025, Colombia experienced a 16.2% increase in imports, totaling $6.48 billion. This growth was primarily fueled by manufactured goods, which constituted 76.7% of the overall import value. Imports of these manufactured goods rose to $4.97 billion, marking a 12.9% increase, driven notably by chemicals, which surged by 19.1%, and materials primarily classified by their production process, which grew by 19.5%. Additionally, imports of fuels and extractive industry products witnessed a 15.3% rise, reaching $600 million, largely due to a significant spike in natural and manufactured gas imports, which soared by 386.6%. Agricultural products, food, and beverage imports also saw a significant increase of 36.5%, spearheaded by a 41.4% rise in food products and live animals. China continued to be the leading supplier to Colombia, accounting for 28.1% of imports, followed closely by the United States at 22.3%, and Brazil at 5.5%.
