In June 2025, Mexico witnessed a 2.5% increase in retail sales compared to the previous year, a slight slowdown from the 2.7% growth observed in May. The recovery spanned across various sectors, with eight out of nine sectors recording positive growth. Notably, online and catalog sales surged by 50.6%, personal goods increased by 11.3%, and household appliances and related items saw a 7% rise. Additionally, sales of healthcare products climbed by 3%, groceries and beverages experienced a modest increase of 0.2%, while self-service and department stores recorded a 0.9% uptick. The hardware and glass sector improved by 2.6%, and sales of motor vehicles and fuels grew by 3.1%. The only sector to experience a decline was textiles and footwear, which fell by 2.2%. Employment in the retail sector rose by 0.3%, whereas wages saw a significant increase of 7.1%. However, when assessed on a monthly basis, there was a 0.4% decrease in real income from goods and services.
