In September 2025, France experienced a 0.8% increase in industrial production from the previous month, bouncing back from an adjusted 0.9% decline in August and surpassing the anticipated 0.1% rise. Manufacturing output saw a 0.9% recovery following a 1% decrease in the prior month. This resurgence was primarily led by transport equipment production, which increased by 5.5% after a 4.3% fall in August. Growth was also noted in the electrical, electronic, and computer equipment sectors (up by 1.2% after a 0.4% decline), food processing industries (up by 0.4% from a 0.4% drop), and coking and refining (up by 1.2% following a 2.6% decrease). Meanwhile, output remained flat in the mining, energy, and water sectors, after a 0.5% reduction in August. Conversely, construction output declined by 1.3% in September, overturning a 1.2% gain from the previous month. This decline was due to decreased activity in both building construction (-5.2% from a 3.9% increase) and specialized construction work (-1% from a 1.4% rise). Over the three-month period from July to September, industrial activity showed a 1.4% increase compared to the previous quarter, with an annual industrial output growth of 1.1%.
