In August 2025, Mexico experienced a 1.4% increase in car exports compared to the same month the previous year, totaling 296,796 units. This came on the heels of a 7.9% rise in July, marking the third consecutive month of growth—albeit at a slower pace. There was a notable uptick in exports for several manufacturers: BMW Group saw a significant rise of 34.9%, reaching 7,989 units; Nissan's exports climbed by 34.4% to 37,549 units; Stellantis increased by 28.6% to 37,736 units; Ford Motor went up by 22.6% to 37,778 units; and Audi grew by 21.6% to 15,266 units. In contrast, exports for some companies fell dramatically, with Mercedes-Benz Group dropping by 33.8% to 2,838 units, Honda decreasing by 24.6% to 15,064 units, Volkswagen falling by 18.7% to 28,502 units, and General Motors reducing by 14.2% to 64,062 units. Overall, from January to August, auto exports slightly declined by around 1%, amounting to 2.25 million units. The United States remained Mexico's largest export partner, accounting for 79% of vehicle shipments during the first eight months, equating to 1.78 million units.
