In July 2025, Taiwanese export orders increased by 15.2% compared to the same period last year, reaching USD 57.6 billion. This growth slightly surpassed the market's expectation of 15.0%, but marks a slowdown from the previous month's 24.6% rise. This deceleration can be attributed to moderated growth in several categories: electronic products grew by 24.8% (down from 35.0% in June), machinery by 6.2% (down from 10.6%), electrical machinery products by 2.3% (down from 7.4%), information and communication products by 15.5% (down from 37.4%), and other goods by 19.4% (down from 30.8%). Conversely, there was a continued decline in orders for basic metals and associated products, which fell by 12.6%, compared to a 10.2% decline in the previous month.

However, there were positive trends in other sectors. Export orders for chemicals saw a turnaround with a rise of 7.8% (up from a decline of 8.7%), textiles increased by 0.8% (up from a decline of 2.6%), and transport equipment grew by 1.1% (up from a decline of 9.4%). Additionally, orders for mineral products and optical and photographic instruments continued to rise, by 10.4% and 7.5%, respectively, compared to the previous month's 3.0% and 6.7%. On a geographical basis, the United States led the increase in orders with a rise of 25.4%, followed by ASEAN with 17.5%, Japan with 12.8%, and Europe with 7.3%.
